Louise Thornton

Louise is the recipiant of a UNSW Vice-Chancellor Post-Doctoral Fellowship. She commenced her fellowship in February 2015 and will be working with A/Prof Frances Kay-Lambkin to develop and evaluate a mobile application for multiple health behaviour change among people with mental health problems. Previously, Louise worked with Professor Amanda Baker at the University of Newcastle in the areas of mental health and substance use since 2005. Louise was awarded her PhD from the University of Newcastle in 2012, which examined the attitudes and perceptions of people with and without mental disorders regarding tobacco, alcohol and cannabis. Louise also travelled to Chicago to complete a post-doctoral traineeship based at Northwestern University as a part of the CRE. Her areas of interest include multiple health behaviour change, qualitative research methods and the role of mobile and web 2.0 technologies in health promotion and interventions.
